Your business can Thrive in this Economy!
It may sound impossible to start a business right now let alone see it grow. But think about it this way. Right now everyone is hurting for business...marketing, media, retail, .com, etc.. Small companies have an advantage in a strained economy. Negotiations shouldn't just happen when buying a car.
Because there are not as many small business buying ads, exhibiting at trade shows, traveling, marketing; take advantage of less competition.
How do you get deals...just ask. If you want to advertise but can't afford the cost...ask to be on a default list. People drop out at the last minute all the time and you can scoop up the left overs. Trade your services for advertising, ask for editorials; remember that you know a lot of people willing to help you out because they need business.
If someone isn't willing to negotiate then move on.
FACT: companies who market during a slow economy reap the benifits during the upswing. Get out there and ask!
Lastly, if you need supplies for your business chances are you can re-negotiate what you have been paying. They don't want to loose your business so coming down on their prices keeps a good customer and you get a break.
